20 Zero-Cost Screen-Free Activities for Families on a Tight Budget

Screen-free doesn’t have to mean expensive. Some of the best activities we’ve done with our toddler cost nothing — just stuff already sitting around the house: toilet paper rolls, old newspaper, a bag of rice, the block bin under the bed. If money’s tight this month (or every month), here are 20 screen-free activities that won’t cost you a shilling more than what’s already in your house.

Free Craft Activities (Stuff You Already Have)

These five are pulled straight from our own rotation of busy toddler craft activities — every single one uses paper, glue, or things you’d otherwise throw away.

1. Paper Snail — Just construction paper, scissors, and glue. Full steps: Construction Paper Snail Craft.
